#Baptism #PrimaryProgram #GreatWeek!

This week was a very good week! We were able to get the Taukeiaho boys baptized and that was so awesome! Maika, the 9 year old, couldn't stop crying the whole time after he was baptized. Their dad was the one who baptized him and it was such a neat experience to see a recently returning father baptize his sons.

We also had another investigator there and that was awesome too. Jackie is doing really well. She came to the Trunk or Treat, the baptism, and she came to church as well! She is now on date for the 22nd of November!

We will be meeting with Sita soon and will hopefully put her on date too and get her baptized before she goes back to Tonga.

This Sunday was the Primary program and it was all in Tongan. Except for the songs, they were in English. It really was great! Primary programs are just the best! haha

So yes we got your package haha and we had a lot fun with it! Thank you! And yes we got pictures! I hope you enjoy them! :D

I can't believe that Kim will be back from her mission so soon, that's crazy how fast it has gone by. I did write her back.

I'm happy I was able to make Grandma's day. That makes me happy!

Well I hope you all have a great week! I love you and miss you all! :D

Elder Allen was able to come up for the baptism.
It was great to see him.

The One Thing That Works Everywhere You Go In The World

What did I tell you about "Meet the Mormons"? Of course it was super awesome! When we watched the missionary mom part I couldn't help but think back and it seems that all mommas do the same thing to their missionary boys! I remember you matching ties to my suits too! :P haha After we watched that President Van Cott told us "Maybe I shouldn't have shown this to a room full of missionaries!" haha Let's just say that I may have gotten emotional too...

Wow! McKenna is driving!! That is crazy! Is she at least a better driver than me? haha Migeal and Karina are working on getting their marriage licence and they should be baptized next month! They will invite me and I'll be able to go see it!

So...what did Elder Evans talk about? Well he talked about a lot of things! He talked a lot about having the same level of faith on your mission when you get home, and if we are willing to put the Lord first, everything else will fall into place in our lives.

Elder Evans also talked about the importance of talking WITH people and not just TO them. It is the one thing that works everywhere you go in the world. He talked about how we can gain more referrals by doing that. Elder Griffes and I were able to put that into place and we have already seen it work! We talked to a guy on the street and he committed to come to church this next Sunday!

Also with following this counsel we were able to pick up a new investigator named Jackie! She is the girlfriend of someone in the ward and we have taught her two lessons already! She is super cool! She said when she finds out it is true she would be baptized! So all in all it has been a really great week!

I am excited for the Taukeiaho boys to get baptized this Saturday, it will be awesome!!

I love you all! Have a great week!

Preparing For A Baptism!

I got some more birthday packages this past week, I got a package from Aunt Kim! It was a lot of really cool old school candy, it was great!! Tell her thanks!! :D I also got a package from Kate, she got me a giant box of candy with a Superman shirt with a cape on it! And Kierstin sent me candy with Superman socks! haha So awesome! It is sad to hear that Patriarch Johnston passed away :( He was a really great man.

As for the the changing companion thing, I am getting used to changes and now I get used to them pretty fast. But it has been nice to have many that I get a long with really well, it helps a lot with the transition. Elder Griffes and I are doing great together, he likes basketball and he played video games professionally.

The week has been really good. The ward was able to finally call a new ward mission leader and it just so happens that he is a returning member. His sons are the three boys that we are teaching who will be baptized on the 25th of October! To see their family return to activity is so awesome! Plus he will be awesome as a ward mission leader. It will be great to see him baptize his sons! That will be the greatest!

We have Elder Evans of the Seventy coming this week! He is the head of the missionary department for the church, so that will be exciting! That is going to be on Friday!

Hopefully you will be able to see Meet The Mormons soon! It is so good! It sold out at one of the movie theaters here in California! So that is really cool!

Anyway things are going well, I hope things are good back home! I love you all!

Birthday, New Comp & Conference

I love the little memes that you sent me!! Elder Holland's talks are always the best!! It is a weird thing to be twenty! I don't feel that old! GAHH!! I still feel like a little kid!! haha I loved the bacon by the way! haha I never expected that! :D

All my candy and other stuff may or may not be gone... hehehe! So I did get pictures of the ding dong cake but they are not on my camera. They are on Elder Allen's camera so I'm going to need to track him down and get those for you. But I do have some of me opening the Bacon! :)

I got letters and stuff from Grandma and Grandpa Barker, a nice letter from Alyssa and a funny comic from Skylar. Aunt Deann, Uncle Rusty... pretty much the whole Petersen side of the family, that was great! What is with the rest of the Barkers!? haha The Searles, The Allens, lots of people. I haven't got Kierstin's package yet but I'm looking forward to it :D.

So we spent the day working hard as missionaries. There is no other way I would rather spend my birthday! My district gathered together for district meeting and we had the ding dongs there so that was lots of fun! I also got a nice birthday call from the Van Cotts, that was super nice of them. They did a good job of filling in for the Barker family birthday song. haha So it was a good day.

Now Elder Allen is pretty much a clone of me. It was a super fun transfer full of crazy shenanigans (and by that I mean doing missionary work) He likes Nintendo and comics and all that stuff. He is super funny too. Elder Griffes, my new companion is from North Carolina. He is about my height, with a little lighter hair than me and he doesn't wear glasses like my last two companions have. He is also very similar to me so things have been going really well. Taking over the ward has been an adventure but it isn't as difficult as I thought that it was going to be.

Conference was super awesome!! There were a lot of really good talks! Elder Eyring's talk on Sunday was like a direct answer to questions I had! That was really cool! And Elder Holland's talks always are my favorite! I really do love General Conference! There is nothing better! The week has been good.

Because of Conference we were not able to see the Taukeiaho boys this week. But from what we hear from the members they are doing really well. Sita is also doing good. We were able to teach her Dad a lesson in Tongan (her Dad is a recent convert) but we weren't able to meet with her. But we did have a great week of teaching in Tongan to the active and less active members so we are getting better at that.

Well I hope that you have a great week!! I love you all!!!
